Visible Speech
Visible speech was the first notation system for the sounds of speech independent of a particular language or dialect and was widely used to teach students how to speak with a "standard" accent. It was first invented by Alexander Melville Bell, who is the son of Alexander Graham Bell however, Graham made few adajments later on. Symbols are used to to provide visual representations of the position the organs of speech need to be in to articulate sounds. Once it is figured out, it is a fairly simple concept
