" Mr. Watson, come here, I want you."
The invention of the telephone was a momentous occasion and it would lead to extraordinary things. Not just for the past, but for also the future. It was all thanks to one man and his assistant.Alexander Graham Bell and
Thomas Watson. When Bell was at his school in Boston, he experimented with a means of transmitting several telegraph messages simultaneously over a single wire and various devices such as a geographically recording sound waves. He explained it as "If I could make a current of electricity vary in intensity precisely as the air varies in density during the production of sound, I should be able to transmit speech telegraphically." Just like any other inventions, Bell had done numerous tries of building it but each of them failed. Until one day on March 10,1876 it worked. He spoke his first words on the telephone with his assistant on the other side which "Mr.Watson , come here, I want you." Ever since that day, he changed history. His invention would become an essential for many decades to come. With the wealth that Bell got from the telephone, he was able to assist the careers of other scientist. |
